KVI AGENT PROFILE:
RUSSELL FORGHAM
I
was the managing editor of a big British national newspaper, with a
circulation of well over two million, until I took (very) early retirement
in 2001.
My wife Sheila and I have always loved travelling, and we like to explore
new areas independently, so we have become quite knowledgeable about it. And
when I looked round for new avenues to explore after a life in newspapers,
becoming a travel agent was the obvious choice. I worked as the UK agent for
an American interline agency for a while, before joining KVI – the big name
in interline travel – in 2005 as their man in Britain.
We’re based in
Milton Keynes, 50 miles north of London,
and we’re available 24/7 to assist you with your interline travelling,
either by phone (01908 510941 or 0845 165 1599) or email (interlineruk@aol.com).
Sheila and I first got hooked on cruising 20 years ago on a four-day voyage
to the Bahamas from Miami on the Nordic Empress. Since then we’ve sailed
with most of the big lines in the Caribbean, Alaska (four times – it’s
brilliant!), the Baltic, the Med, South America and across the Atlantic
several times on the magnificent QE2 and the Queen Mary 2 … and we’re booked
on the maiden transatlantic voyage of Cunard’s brand new Queen Elizabeth in
January 2011.
Of course, it helped that Sheila worked for Air
Canada, which means that
in our journeying we’ve managed to visit all seven continents, including
Antarctica – though I have to admit we didn’t actually set foot on land
there but viewed its majesty from the deck of the Star Princess! And if an
eighth continent is ever discovered, we’ll be off there like a shot!
All this means that I really understand cruising and the world of interline
travel, so you can be confident that I can offer you all the advice and help
you need. So what are you waiting for – give me a call now!
